The National Disaster Management Office (NDMO) begins identifying resources that Provincial Emergency Operation Centres can use to help respond to the impacts of the recent Tropical Cyclone Raquel.

NDMO’s Acting Programs Officer Brian Tom told SIBC News, mission plans are being finalised.

“The mission plans we worked on last week should now be finalised this week, so we are now identifying resources where NDMO and the Provincial Emergency Operation Centres can use to respond to the cyclone.”

He adds the assessment teams will be deployed as soon as the weather permits.

“We propose that as long as the weather permits, which mean every preparations and planning should be done this week with the deployment of assessment teams.”
