The Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) says its decision to cut down trees at Lawson Tama Hill Side is part of preparation work to give it a new look.

Solomon Islands Football Federation Chief Executive Officer Neil Poloso told SIBC News in a media statement, SIFF decides to cut down the trees as it proposes to develop the hillside with new fence and beautify the hillside with environmentally friendly trees.

Mr Poloso explains to do this, the old trees which currently pose a risk to the public must go.

He adds this is also a deterrent factor on illegal activities up the hillside.

SIFF made the statement to clarify public criticisms after HCC cleared the tree on the Lawson Tama stadium hillside.
