Shaggy said he first learnt about Solomon Islands through his managers as one of the historical battlefields during World War.

He said this was his first time to be touring the south pacific describing it as “historical”.

Speaking in Jamaican dialect Shaggy says he is overwhelmed by the hospitality and friendship of the Solomon people and also the beautiful islands here.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Lilo thanked Shaggy for choosing to tour the Solomon Islands.

Mr Lilo described Shaggy as a great musician that has many followers in the Solomon Islands.

The Prime Minister also enlightened Shaggy briefly of some of the historical background of the Solomon Islands.
