Prime Minister Rick Houenipwela delivered an emotional speech at the commemoration of the anniversary in Honiara early last month.

In an exclusive interview with the national broadcaster just before the celebrations, Prime Minister Houenipwela spoke about past key political leaders, priority areas for the government and people to work on, and where the government will begin to start Solomon Islands’ journey into the next 40 years.
