Police Commissioner Acting, Junita Matanga.

Police are currently investigating six new sexual assault cases.

The cases were reported to the police earlier this month.

Acting Police Commissioner Juanita Matanga says the victims range from a five year old child to an adult; and that these cases include rape, indecent assault and defilement.

Commissioner Matanga says they are very concerned about the impact such incidents will have on the lives of the country’s young children.

“And this is quite a concern for us too because they happened to our young children. And this indicates that we need to take more precautions on such issues because if we do not take these issues seriously, alot of our young children will become victims and will have a scar for the rest of their lives when they grow up.”

The Acting Police Commissioner also urged communities and victims to report incidents of these nature to the Police at once.
