Solomon Airlines is still unsatisfied with the outcome of talks over the airline impasse despite an agreement reached with the Fijian government.

A Solomon Airlines spokesman says the recent communique agreed has achieved nothing in terms of fairness and equality.

This is because although flights are expected to resume towards the end of the month, it still restricts Solomon Airlines to the previously approved operation from Honiara via Port Vila to Nadi each Saturday and returning on Sunday.

The spokesman says but for now Solomon Airlines will honour the agreement with high hopes that further discussions in late January or early February will prevail and their demand will be considered. The spokesman adds the airline will continue to maintain their position as they continue to seek fifth and sixth freedom rights beyond Port Vila and a point beyond Nadi.
