In sports, a Pentani Runi says Solomon Islands should only send athletes to compete in sports that are “fair.”

Mr Runi elaborates, fair sports are athletics, weight-lifting, boxing and Karate.

He says athletes compete in these sports according to a person’s weight, best of individual performance and do not depend on other members of the team for their result.

Mr. Runi says individual sports is always fair.

But Mr Runi says netball, volley ball, rugby and basket ball are very unfair sports for Solomon Islands to participate in.

He says players from other countries are very tall, strong and muscular so it’s difficult to compete against them.

He says it is always a waste of money sending a huge contingent to a regional sports event we can never win.
