A warrant for arrest has been issued for a man charged with assaulting a police officer.

The defendant is also charged with common assault and publishing obscene pictures.

He was due to appear in the Magistrate Court today to set a date for his trial but failed to turn up.

The prosecuting police officer applied for a warrant for his arrest.

The warrant will be reviewed on February 2nd.
