PUBLIC COMMENDED FOR GOOD BEHAVIOUR: SIMSA
The Solomon Islands Maritime Safety Administration (SIMSA) has thanked the travelling public, vessel owners and operators for their commendable behaviour during the ‘Safe Boat Operation’ festive season.
Head of the Safe Boat Operations Derek Saru acknowledged the travelling public for good behaviour resulting in no criminal behaviour reports reaching his office.
However, Mr Saru advised small boat operators travelling between our islands to carefully observe the weather and inform their relatives, friends and relevant authorities of their intended destination and the expected time of arrival.
He further advised all sea travellers especially outboard motor users to check the latest Marine Weather forecast before travelling.
