A group of women in North Malaita, who formed an association to get help from the United Nations Development Program, UNDP, Climate Change Adaptation, are calling on the program administrators to fulfill their promise.

They said since the UNDP Climate Change Adaptation program administrators last visited them in November last year, nothing is still forthcoming of their promise.

The women told SIBC’s North Malaita stringer John Andrew Kiri that they were promised gardening tools by the UNDP Climate Change Adaptation program.

But Mr. Kiri reports it has been fifteen months since the program’s last visit and the women are waiting eagerly for the gardening tools.

“January 14th was the month promised for the gardening tools to arrive, but as we speak February has passed. The question now is when exactly will the women’s group, who are eagerly waiting for the tools, would receive them and start working.”

SIBC News understands four other provinces including Malaita province were included under the UNDP Climate Change Adaptation program.
