PRIME MINISTER LILO CONGRATULATES SDA FOR 100TH YEARS

Prime Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo today congratulates the Seventh Day Adventist Church for attaining 100 years of growth and maturity.

Speaking this morning during the Seventh Day Adventist 100 years centenary celebrations at Viru, Western Province, Prime Minister Lilo says SDA contributes remarkably both in the country’s public and private sectors.

He says the government and people of Solomon Islands acknowledge the fact that SDA are responsible for many of the country’s developments.

Mr Lilo explains Seventh Day Adventist Church currently runs more than 20 clinics around the country, including Atoifi hospital. Also, almost 40 educational and training institutions.

SIBC News understands, SDA church currently runs two FM channels and a TV channel.

The celebrations at Viru was officially opened by Prime Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo.

Meanwhile, Pastor Fred Panda of Viru SDA church says about 5-thousand people from around the country and overseas are expected to attend the weeklong celebrations.
