The Solomon Islands Bible Society hosts a Bible Week this week.

Based on the theme “The unchanging God’s Word on Freedom”, this is the first Bible Week to be held again in the country since the ethnic tensions.

Chair of the Bible Society Pastor Kenneth Mamali says the public is invited attend activities scheduled throughout the week at the Art Gallery, Honiara.

He says there will be presentations from the Solomon Islands Translation Association Group and other key theological speakers in the country.

“They will do some sessions about their work and role in translating the Bible into our languages.We have people like Dr. Alpheus who will speak on how the Bible reached us today. We also have the likes of Reverend Maefonia who will speak on leadership, and also with Dr Pikacha who speaks on medical that goes along with the Bible.”

SIBC News understand the Bible Week was officially opened with a combined service at the Holy Cross Catholic Church this afternoon.
