The repatriation exercise has been rated the most expensive exercise for the Government, in terms of the natural disasters in Solomon Islands.

Operations Manager at the National Disaster Management Office (NDMO) George Baragamu made the statement after the Government announced an urgent repatriation exercise for the remaining evacuation centers at Rove and at the FOPA Village.

Speaking to SIBC News, Mr Baragamu said the level of commitment and support the Government offers for the repatriation of the April Flash Flood victims is big.

“The level of commitment and support given by the government to support this repatriation is very big. By far this would be rated as one of the most expensive exercises in terms of dealing with natural disasters in the country.”

SIBC News understands families living at the Rove and FOPA evacuation centers were expected to be repatriated last Friday.
