“Achieving Sustainable Development Goals remain Solomon Islands ultimate commitment”.

Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare reassured the recent United Nation General Assembly in New York.

“Solomon Islands welcome this session’s theme “The Sustainable Development Goals: A Universal Push to Transform our World.” We commend you for putting together and implementing an SDG team in your office, we look forward to working with you in unlocking the means of implementation and realising the full and effective implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.”

Mr. Sogavare announced Solomon Islands begins work on domesticating sustainable development goals by integrating them to the country’s 2016 to 2035 National Strategy.

“I am indeed proud to say that Solomon Islands has begun work in domesticating the Sustainable Development Goals by integrating them to our 2016-2035 National Development Strategy. The National Development Strategy provides a clear, coherent, and harmonising whole of government approach in delivering on our national policies and programs.”
