The Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development has approved 34 schools to start their secondary levels this year.

Undersecretary of the Ministry’s National Education Services, Constance Nasi made the announcement at the signing of Form Seven results recently in Honiara.

“So far for this year we have approved 18 new schools to have Form 1. Ten schools will introduce Form 4 this year. Six schools will have Form 6 this year and we are slowly getting there, but we’ll get there.”

She adds, the Ministry of Education is working hard to ensure that all students have access to secondary education.

“So we are working hard to ensure that all our students have, now that it’s 100 percent access to secondary education, we want to provide that to all our students to be able to access senior levels of our education system.”
