ACADEMIC CALLED ON VOTERS TO VOTE CAREFULLY
A Solomon Islander studying at the University of Auckland, New Zealand has called on eligible voters to vote leaders who will improve the country’s social, political and economic status.
David Rauna, who is doing post graduate studies in science said, people should vote candidates who can contribute to appropriate legislation, sensible policies and represent the people.
Mr Rauna adds, the poor performance of MPs report released by the Transparency Solomon Islands indicates that rural communities have not benefited from this government.
He also acknowledged the call by the former MP for East Choiseul to vote out MPs who do not perform according to their role, saying voters must vote for leaders who will improve the country’s status in social, political and economics.
