The Hograno, Katova, Kia, Havulei constituency advocacy Forum has lashed out against the 11th hour allegation tactic used by former MP for Hograno, Katova, Kia, Havulei constituency in Isabel province to tarnish the image of Jeremiah Manele, the new MP for the constituency and a nominee for the Prime Minister’s post.

The print media today reports, Mr Riumana has instructed Suri’s Law firm to lodge an election petition on Mr Manele over allegations of vote buying.

Mr Riumana alleged some members of Mr Manele’s campaign team dished out money to a number of women during the campaign period.

But Coordinator for the Hograno, Katova, Kia, Havulei constituency advocacy Forum, Mr. Cornelius Rathamana says Mr Riumana’s trick is cheap and holds no ground as Mr Manele out run him by a margin of over 1, 300 votes.

“We are a little disturbed by this article which comes at the 11th hour where we sensed is a strategy to disturb the normal thinking of the MPs as they go through the ballot tomorrow and we feel that it is not in the best interest of the people of Isabel who have voted and who have expressed themselves through the elections, which is reflected and can be seen through the major result differences between the two candidates, over 1, 300 plus.”

Mr Rathamana calls on Mr Riumana to throw his support behind Mr Manele for the good of Hograno people and that of Solomon Islands.
