ATTORNEY SEEKS LONG SERVICE BENEFITS FROM HIGH COURT
The Attorney General James Apaniai is seeking clarification from the Court of Appeal if he is entitled to long service benefits as a High Court Judge.
His earlier challenge on the matter was refused by the High Court.
The hearing was scheduled for yesterday but other issues came up including a conflict of interest because Mr Apaniai as the current Attorney General, is the direct boss of the Solicitor General who is appearing on behalf of the defendant in the case.
The matter was adjourned for a new date.
Mr Apaniai became a High Court judge in April 2011.
He resigned in 2014 to contests the National General Elections.
