Education Authorities are critical about improving the Solomon Islands Education system.

Chairman of the National Education Board Warren Paia made the statement during the review of the 1978 Act this week.

Mr Paia says education authorities are the education providers and must be critical about the education system in the country develops for its children.

“Education authorities are responsible for teachers, hiring and firing of teachers, responsible for policies that apply in their areas or sphere of influence in the rural areas or in towns and so on, but education authorities are so critical in our education system.”

Mr Paia adds, Education Authorities are revising the 1978 Education Act to improve the current education system.
