The biggest ever Solomon Islands tourism mission to visit Australia, the Solomon Islands Visitors Bureau plus 12 local tourism representatives and Solomon Airlines will stage two major workshops in Sydney and Brisbane in May.

A statement from Solomon Islands Visitors Bureau says possible venues for the workshops will be the Menzies Hotel in Sydney on 17 May and the Hilton Hotel Brisbane on 18 May.

Solomon Islands tourism representatives include Papatura Island Retreat and Maringe Lagoon Lodge from Santa Isabel, Ropiko Beach Resort and Uepi Island Resort from the Marovo Lagoon, Agnes Gateway Hotel in Munda, Tavanipupu Private Island Resort in Marau Sound, the Honiara Hotel, Tetepare Island and Solomon Islands Dive Expeditions (SIDE).

Traditional entertainment at both events will be provided by the Hageulu Pan Pipers from Santa Isabel.

Meanwhile, Solomon Islands Visitors Bureau Chief Executive Officer, Josefa ‘Jo’ Tuamoto says the workshops are timely given the continued growth of visitor arrival statistics from the Australian market.
