British Envoy to Solomon Islands presents introductory papers to PM

The incoming British High Commissioner to the Solomon Islands, His Excellency Thomas Edward Coward presented his letter of introduction to the Prime Minister of Solomon Islands Hon. Manasseh Sogavare today.

H.E Thomas Coward said: “It is my honour to present to you my letter of introduction from Prime Minister Johnson and a privilege to represent the United Kingdom in the Solomon Islands. I am excited to be back in a country that means so much to me and to my family and a country that means a lot to the United Kingdom. There are deep historic links and strong bonds of friendship between our two countries and I look forward to working together in partnership to further strengthen our great nations.”

Accepting the letter of introduction, Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare welcomed the new High Commissioner to Solomon Islands.

“Welcome home your excellency to Solomon Islands, a member of the family of the commonwealth of nations.”

The Prime Minister added that the Solomon Islands and the United Kingdom enjoy deep and rich historic ties.
