Businessman hospitalised after failed robbery attack.

Well known  businessman, John Lee, owner of Lee Kwok Quen was left  injured when an armed man allegedly attacked him with a knife this morning during a failed robbery attack at Point Cruz.

It was alleged that the man was  armed  with a knife and attempted to snatch a bag of money from Mr. Lee but was not successful.

Witnesses say the incident  occurred around 7am this morning and the  74 year old sustained knife wounds on his face and hands

He was later rushed to the Honiara National Hospital for medical attention by one of his employees.

It is believed the robber was with another accomplice and were waiting in a car outside the Lee Kwok Quen  compound opposite the ombudsman’s office area.

Meanwhile, officers from the Criminal Investigation Department of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force were at the scene carrying out investigations.

An Officer contacted at the Central Police, CID told SIBC News, the alleged wounding incident was under investigation and no further details can be released at this stage.

SIBC’s attempts  to get further details of the seriousness of the attack at the National Referral Hospital authority this morning was unsuccessful.
