The relationship between Communities in Russell Islands in the Central Province and the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force is heightened by the Provincial Police Commander, Patricia Leta’s visit lo Yandina last week.

SIBC’s news stringer in Central Province Tome Kiki reports, community disturbances have reduced significantly.

“Chiefs, elders, and communities in Yandina were very pleased with the cooperation and partnership created by police officers in Yandina with the community. Now you can hardly see people drinking in public places, selling of illegal drugs like kwaso, home brew, and marijuana has stopped. The communities are now cooperating well in reporting cases to the police at the moment.”

Tome said Central Province’s PPC and her officers made several meetings with Chiefs, Community Leaders and youth leaders during last week’s visit.
