Two cruise vessels will be visiting Tulagi, Central Islands province next month, and they are the MV Sea Discovery and the National Geographic Orion.

Tourism Officer for Central Province, Simon Teva told SIBC News today the cruise vessels will be in Tulagi on 10th and 11th November respectively, adding that Trade Co and Destination Solomons are coordinating the visits.

“The two cruise ships will arrive here at Tulagi on the 10th and 11th of November respectively. This was coordinated by Trade Co and the Destination Solomons. My committee which comprises of two operators and a facilitator are currently having meetings to set up a program for the cruise visits.”

He says they are now setting up a facilitation committee to work together with the Central Provincial government to prepare for the visits.

Mr Teva calls on communities in and around Tulagi for their cooperation, as tourism is everybody’s business.

“I call for cooperation and understanding from all communities in and around Tulagi to be part of this program because after all tourism is everybody’s business and as I’ve already mentioned the first impression always counts, so I hope that not only the facilitation committee will work towards the success of this program but I hope the public will feel part and partial of this development, especially towards tourism.”
