D.C.C CALLED ON TO BE TRANSPARENT WITH AULUTA BASIN PROJECT

A landowner of the Auluta Basin has called on the Democratic Coalition for Change (DCC) Government to be transparent in its decision develop the Auluta Basin Palm Oil Project.

Chief Ben Saelea made the call after a delegation from the Auluta Basin and East Fataleka Resource Owners Association visited Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare recently, to express their desire in implementing the project.

Chief Saelea told SIBC News, the terms of responsibility for the two associations have expired since 2010, which means they have no authority to discuss the project.

He said the resource owners of Auluta wants new executive members as their legal representative, as provided for under the Auluta Resource Owners Association constitution.

He said infrastructure development is vital at this stage as people have already provided their land to start the project.
