The Democratic Coalition for Change (DCC) Government is not giving up on its priority projects on Malaita Province.

Chairman of Government Caucus Hon. Jackson Fiulaua reiterated the DCC Government’s commitment towards the implementation of national projects earmarked for Malaita following suggestions that it has not been prioritising the projects earmarked for the province.

Mr. Fiulaua says the DCC Government steadfastly maintains its commitment to all national projects on Malaita and elsewhere in the country.

He says DCCG is equally concerned about the lack of tangible progress on its priority projects in the province and has therefore established a Think Tank to find an alternative model to fast track their implementation.

The Malaita national projects are in Bina Harbour in West Kwaio, Suafa Bay in North Malaita, Auluta Basin in East Malaita, Waisisi in West Are’are and Liwe in Small Malaita.

The Think Tank’s formation is in line with an earlier statement by the Prime Minister, Manasseh Sogavare that the Malaita Provincial Government and its people must help the National Government identify hindrances to the progress of national projects on Malaita.
