The office of the commissioner of police has dismissed rumours of suspected human remains found along the Mataniko River at Vara Creek, Central Honiara.

The pathology result from the National Referral Hospital proves the remains are from an animal NOT human.

The report says, the physical appearance and radiological examination of the remains confirm, they belong to a non-human creature.

The report establishes an animal present in Solomon Islands that has five digits on it small forelimbs and four digits on its large hind limbs is a crocodile.

Based on the Pathologist’s report, police now confirms, the remains were NOT of a human.
