FEW MORE DAYS OF WET WEATHER: SIMS
The Solomon Islands Meteorological Service (SIMS) Office has said the very wet weather currently experienced will continue for the next few days due to the presence of an active trough which lies over the country.
The trough links to a Low of 1,005 hectopascals near Rennell and Bellona.
It adds another Tropical low is developing north of Vanuatu and south-southwest of Tikopia Island.
Director of Meteorology David Hiriasia says heavy rain will still affect the country till probably Wednesday this week.
“Probably by Wednesday we should be clear on how the rainfall will be like, but it is very likely that Monday (today) and tomorrow heavy rain warnings will still be in force for most of the Solomon Islands.”
The Meteorology Director urges members of the public to take precautionary measures during this bad weather.
