A former East Guadalcanal MP, Steven Paeni has offered his land for the troubled Ruavatu Secondary School, saying the school can be relocated to it.

Mr Paeni made the offer when commenting the disturbance the school experienced last week.

He says if the Government and Guadalcanal Province gives their consent, his land is available for the school.

“If the province and Central Government is willing to do it, this area is still inside the same constituency of East Guadalcanal but far West from the communities of Ruatvatu area. As I see it, Education is the key to living, therefore we cannot deprive the right of our children to education. And if we relocate the school to a distant location, our children within that constituency will find education difficult.”

SIBC News understands Steven Paeni is an intending candidate for the  North-East Guadalcanal constituency seat in this year’s elections.
