The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force has arrested four men in relation to the recent attack on a man at the Kingsley Kai bar in Point Cruz.

The attack was believed to be in relation to a logging disagreement between land owners and a logging company in Rennell and Bellona province.

Speaking in his weekly media conference yesterday, Police Commissioner Frank Prendergast says, the men were arrested and charged with attempted murder and related charges.

He says police continue its investigation into the case and declines to talk further as the matter is before the court.

“I can confirm that the police have four men in custody. They’ve been charged with attempted murder and associate charges and have been remanded in custody. Because that matter is now before the court and it is indeed still an ongoing investigation I don’t need or intend to talk any further than that.”

Mr Prendergast thanks the public for their support leading up to the arrest.
