Concern Citizens group, the Forum Solomon Islands International, FSII, has criticized Police actions for allegedly drinking beer and behaved carelessly while driving to town from West Guadalcanal over the weekend.

The incident was posted in the group’s Facebook page by a member who witnessed the incident yesterday.

He said the officers were on board a Police vehicle plated G3590, throwing beer cans out the windows as it traveled towards the city.

The eye witness said members of the public noticed the unusual speed taken by the G-plated vehicle.

He claimed the bus sped through the narrow road overtaking vehicles despite its large size.

A statement from FSII said many of its members have condemned the unlawful acts by these Police officers and are calling on the Commissioner of Police to investigate the incident and discipline those involved.

Meanwhile, a police officer also on the FSII page said while police do not tolerate corruption, evidence must accompany such accusations.

He reminded members on the FSII page that if anyone has evidence, follow the right procedure so that proper disciplinary measures can be taken.
