GOVERNMENT MAGAZINE LAUNCHED YESTERDAY
The Government has officially launched its magazine yesterday in Honiara.
Called ‘The Nation’, the 12-page edition will be a monthly publication, printed on glossy paper.
Director of the Government Communication Unit, George Hermmings, told SIBC News yesterday, the magazine carries stories of a range of activities and programs from government ministries.
Mr Hermmings adds the magazine wants to provide information about what the government is doing.
He also described today’s launch as an exciting time for his team.
“It is an exciting time for us because for a very long time we haven’t produced any publications for the government and since we have a strong support to produce this magazine from the government we are very pleased to provide this information service for our people in the country.”
The Government Communications Director also said the magazine is an opportunity for people to read and know more about government activities in the country.
“And I would like to encourage people to read this magazine because it contains accurate information about the government, unheard stories about the government, so it’s a big opportunity for the public and anyone interested to know about the government to read this magazine.”
The Nation magazine will be distributed free of charge at certain locations in Honiara and to provincial centres throughout the country.
