The Governor-General has encouraged Solomon Islands to fight against corruption.

Sir Frank Kabui made the statement at the official event to commemorate the 89th Birthday Anniversary of Queen Elizabeth at Lawson Tama this morning.

In his keynote address, Sir Frank says, “if we want to see an end to corruption we have to fight it”.

He also said corruption is as old as humanity and needs God’s intervention.

“Corruption is as old as humanity itself, secondly; we need to fight it, but fighting it requires God’s intervention, that is the bottom line. Thirdly; education alone is not an answer for corruption. However, education does help to understanding corruption as a problem of the human heart. It does open the door to striving and developing the application of God’s wisdom for life, above the wisdom of this world which is creating havoc everywhere.”
