GUADALCANAL PROVINCE ALLOCATED $4m FOR EDUCATION
The Guadalcanal Provincial Government has allocated more than $4 million to where it believes, its mouth is – ‘Education’, next year.
Guadalcanal Provincial Communication Unit says the sum is to meet academic training for pre-service students, teachers, GPG Employees 2016 and continuous students from 2015.
More than $1 million was allocated for semester one costs at the country’s premier University while more than $3 million is to meet its sponsored students expenses for the new academic semester.
SIBC News understands the Minister for Education Hon. Lazarus Rina has announced, the 2016 Provincial scholarship for new applicants closes on 13th August.
Minister Rina emphasises, the development of human resources is key to the Guadalcanal provincial government’s policy.
The scholarship is open to Guadalcanal students undertaking tertiary studies at the Solomon Islands National University.
