The Newly elected Member of Parliament for West Guadalcanal Constituency, Hon. Mary Garu, has called on her constituents to work together for the greater good of the constituency.
Speaking to local media for the first time since her election, Hon. Garu urges the people of West Guadalcanal to set aside their differences and any issues that might create divisions within their communities.
“It is time for us to come together as one community to address the various challenges that impact our people, especially our youths and women. We have the potential to create positive change, but that can only happen if we work hand in hand.”
“Divisiveness hinders our progress. I encourage everyone to focus on our common goals rather than on what separates us,” she stated.
Hon. Garu also expressed her gratitude to the voters of West Guadalcanal for placing their trust in her as their parliamentary representative.
“I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the people of West Guadalcanal for the confidence they have shown in me. It is an honor to serve you,” she said.
With a strong commitment to her late husband’s legacy, Hon. Garu also pledged to address unresolved issues in the constituency.
She expressed her desire to work closely with every member of the community to foster development and improve the quality of life in West Guadalcanal.
“I want to continue the work that my late husband has started. His dedication to our community is a guiding light for me, and I aim to uphold that commitment by being responsive to the needs of our people for the West Guadalcanal constituency.’’
“Together, we can build a brighter future for our children and ensure that their voices are heard,” she said.
