The Solomon Islands Law Reform Commission has urged the Justice Minister to bring Law Reform Commission reports before Cabinet.

Speaking yesterday at the launch of a legal consultation paper on homicide offences, Waita Ben Tabusasi told Minister Ishmael Avui, the Commission made reports on important issues affecting the country but these reports have never been tabled in Parliament.

Mr Tabusasasi urged Minister Ivui to present those reports to Cabinet.

“There were report made on some very important issues affecting this nation have been in your office and have never been taken to Parliament I believe subsequently tabled in Parliament. And I would like to ask your good self to search your office see where they are, bring them to Cabinet and then take them to Parliament so that the laws could be amended accordingly. Without Cabinet approval, there would be no amendment to those laws. And I ask you honourable Minister to do this on behalf of the Commission.”
