Police Officers in Malu’u and a Chief in Bita’ama, successfully confiscated tools used for producing home brew and kwaso in North Malaita last Thursday.

Police approached the men and asked them to surrender equipment used to produce the illegal alcohol.

John Andrew Kiri reports.

“Five police officers at the Malu’u police station have successfully conducted a New Year’s operation, which involves apprehending three people for producing kwaso, asking them to surrender all that they used to produce the illegal drug.”

Mr Kiri reports, the following items were confiscated during the raid.

“They include four cylinders used for cooking kwaso, six jerry cans for mixing the illegal drug, three buckets, a distillation hose and two cylinders filled with home-brewed liqour.”
