Makira Ulawa Province’s income per capita was ranked the lowest of all nine provinces.

The 2012/2013 statistic report presented during a dissemination workshop in Kirakira.

A Makira citizen Noel Mamau says this is not a good indication especially for cocoa farmers who worked hard to ensure the province earns its place as the second largest cocoa producer in the country.

Leaders especially the provincial Assembly members and Members of Parliament should not take this report lightly as it reveals the province’s weakness.

Mamau says this implication is a very serious matter and the four MPs and the MPAs of the province should seriously look at raising the provinces income per capita.

Meanwhile Mr Mamau blames the national government for not responding to the province’s request for help on infrastructure development.
