Manawai Hydro Power System in East Are’are is in the priority list of the Member of Parliament for East Are’are Mr Andrew Manepora’a, says Henry Kahui, a member of the Task force working group for the East Are’are Constituency.

In an interview with SIBC News, Mr Kahui says the hydro system is in the priority list of the East Are’are MP saying work on the Manawai Hydro System will kick off as soon as funds are available.

“On behalf of the MP’s task force I would like to remind my good people of East Are’are that we never forget you but prioritise you and the hydro, so sometime this year as soon as the budget is passed then we will kick off work on our Manawai hydro.”

Mr Kahui made the comment to reply to concerns raised by people of East Are’are who complained that the breakdown of the system in April last year has badly affected the user community, saying they are missing out on a basic essential services.
