MANENIARU ASSURED NATION OF TACKLING FISHERIES ISSUES HEAD ON

The Minister of Fisheries Honourable John Maneniaru has assured concerned Solomon Islanders, although the challenges posed by the beche-de-mer fishery are great, he is willing to tackle them head on.
Minister Maneniaru made this assurance amidst heavy criticisms against DCC’s granting of export licence to Ontong Java Development Company last week.
Mr Maneniaru believes with the strong support of the government to promote economic growth and development in the fisheries sector, his Ministry has a pivotal role to play in advancing the national interest in businesses relating to fisheries.
He pledges to put the Fisheries Ministry in order as Solomon Islands has potential to benefit more from the Ministry.
