MINISTRY OF WOMEN HOLDS STAKEHOLDER’s CONSULTATION

The Ministry of Women, Youth and Children Affairs will conduct a Stakeholders’ Consultative Meeting on optional protocol on the selling of the child, child prostitution and child pornography at the SIBC Conference room tomorrow.

It will be a meeting for the Ministry’s stakeholders to discuss ways of keeping the country’s commitment to the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Geneva Human Rights Treaty Council.

The meeting is objected to provide targets of Optional Protocol 1, undertaken assessment on the proposed protocol, Map out current and future programs and develop narrative reports on the manifestations of Optional Protocol 1 in the country.

It will expect inputs from their respective organisations on how they will advocate on issues surrounding the treaty instrument.

The outcome of the meeting will support the Ministry’s submission of the report to Cabinet.
