A State prosecutor has told the Court he intends to proceed with a murder case even if the murder weapon is not recovered.

Prosecutor Bradley Dalipanda was referring to the murder weapon used to kill a man from Temotu province at White river in May this year.

Mr Dalipanda told the Court Police are conducting investigations but have not been successful in locating the alleged murder weapon.

He says, even if the murder weapon remains at large, the case must proceed.

He says, the bulk of the prosecution’s statements have been disclosed to the defense.

A Joel Abia is charged with the murder and is currently remanded in jail.

The case will appear again in Court on the 20th of this month where the accused will take his plea and a committal hearing to the High Court will be conducted.
