NDC CHAIR CALLED FOR SOLOMON ISLANDERS TO COOPERATE

Chairman of the National Disaster Council, NDC, and Permanent Secretary of Environment, Climate Change, Disaster Management and Meteorology Dr Melchior Mataki has called for greater cooperation among all Solomon Islanders during the current recovery process.
Dr Mataki said the country has endured a week filled with destruction and an enormous tragedy and now is the time to work together.
In a media statement yesterday, the Permanent Secretary said together as a nation, focus now must not only be on recovering from these events, but also reducing the risks of a similar future disaster.
He said the help already received during this time of need is beyond valuable adding, the nation have seen the true meaning of friendship from all partners and people, both local and international.
