The Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) today announced the nine Solomon Islanders who have been granted the 2016 Taiwan ICDF Scholarship.

Speaking at an official ceremony to hand over the recipients acceptance letters Taiwan Ambassador Victor Te-sun Yu encouraged the recipients to commit themselves to their studies.

“You are the privileged ones of getting this opportunity to improve yourselves, build up your capacity and come back to serve your country. In doing so, we are helping Solomon Islands to build up a talent pool, so this pool of talent after graduation will come back to help this country to develop. Work hard and with perseverance, never lose heart.”

The students will undergo in-service studies in medicine, agriculture, business administration, mass communication, and international business and trade at four Taiwan universities.
