The Leader of the Parliamentary Opposition Jeremiah Manele has congratulated the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) on its historical achievement in sending its first officers to be part of the UN peacekeeping mission in Darfur, Sudan.

Mr. Manele described this as a historical achievement for our police force and the country.

The Opposition Leader also thanked those who have worked hard especially RAMSI and other stakeholders in supporting our police force in making this arrangement possible.

He said, the recognition by the UN in accepting our police officers to be deployed under the UN flagship is a huge step forward for Solomon Islands international image.

Congratulating the officers, the Opposition Leader also reminds them to carry the pride and flag of Solomon Islands with them.

He highlighted that this is also an opportunity to show the world that police in Solomon Islands are trustworthy, responsible, capable and hardworking.
