Prime Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo has held bilateral talks with his New Zealand counterpart, John Key during his state visit to New Zealand this week.

During the meeting in Wellington, Prime Minister Lilo announced his Government’s commitment to reforms in airport infrastructure; including the public-private partnership to manage airport infrastructure and broader frameworks for improving aviation in the country.

In response, the New Zealand Prime Minister said he commended Solomon Islands for its reform agenda in the aviation infrastructure sector and pledged New Zealand’s support to the sector.

Prime Minister Key also congratulated Solomon Islands for opening its High Commission office in New Zealand.

He said it is a milestone that takes the relationship between the two countries and their peoples another step higher.

Prime Minister Lilo and his delegation are expected to return to Honiara this weekend.
