Prime Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo has officially launched the re-branding of the Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation, today.

SIBC’s re-branding includes the new presentation format of ‘Unified Voice’ and a new and more personalized slogan: ‘You, Me SIBC’.

Speaking at the launch this afternoon, Prime Minister Lilo said today’s launch is the pinnacle of the wave of change that is sweeping across the National Broadcaster.

“Today’s launch of the re-branding of Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation, I am sure that all of us will agree, is the pinnacle of the wave of change that is sweeping across the National Broadcaster since the appointment of the current board and management just over a year ago. This launch is also a new dawn for an organisation that until recently has struggled on many fronts in particular in terms of financial affairs. However, recent developments have given us a huge sense of optimism thus, this event, I am sure we will all agree, is a new beginning in that new re-direction.”

The Prime Minister also praised the National Broadcaster’s Board, saying the evolution of the Broadcaster is a success story.

“Though the corporation still has a lot of challenges, SIBC’s evolution in the past 15 months is one of the most success stories since the passage of the State Owned Enterprises Act by Parliament in 2007.”
