The Joint Civil Society Groups & Concerned Citizens has called on Prime Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo to honour promises and commitments made by his government to provinces and the people of Solomon Islands.

The group’s Interim Chair, Barnabas Henson said in a statement the recent call from Temotu Premier, Father Brown Beu seeking answers as to when Mr Lilo will deliver his promise, is a reminder of unfulfilled promises made to the provinces.

He said a similar promise made to Kilu’ufi Hospital on Christmas day last year for 3 million dollars is still being questioned by the Malaita public.

Mr Henson said the Prime Minister’s victory speech on 16 November, 2011 said his government would be transparent and work with the people of Solomon Islands.

He adds, NCRA must commit resources and time to conclude its unfinished obligations or the country will bear the responsibility for serious damages being caused.
