The Police Liquor Squad Unit (LSU) in Honiara conducted several raids in Honiara recently.

Provincial Police Commander for Honiara City Chief Superintendent Jimson Robo said police raided some bottle shops in East, West and Central Honiara.

PPC Robo said liquors and homebrews were confiscated, suspects were arrested while others escaped during the raids.

“Some bottle shops are strongly warned to always comply with their license conditions.”

“As we are approaching the big event ahead of us, our officers will continue to conduct raids to hotspot locations and will surely revisit visited locations based on information received from communities,” he said.

Meanwhile, Superintendent Robo acknowledged communities for supplying information to police which led to the successful work.

The suspects were charged and will appear in court on a later date.

The raid team consists of LSU along with the supporting team from the National Traffic Department, Police Response Team and the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) and AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP).
