Police investigations into Principal Magistrate Rodgers Tovosia have been halted, due to an absent complainant who is currently overseas.

Early this year, Australian Quentin Maclaine claimed Mr Tovosia offered to acquit him from his case at the Magistrates Court, in exchange for $50,000.00.

Mr Hugh-Macklin reported the matter to the Police and the Judicial disciplinary Panel suspended Mr Tovosia on half-pay pending the results of the investigations.

But the Police Media Unit this week said while the case is still active, Police have halted the investigations because the complainant is overseas.

The Police Media Unit says investigators are waiting for him to return to the country with further information regarding the case.
